Remembering Martha Odom

With heavy hearts, we share the funeral arrangements and obituary information for Martha Odom, a senior at Ascension Episcopal School, whose life was tragically taken on April 23 at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge.

Holy God, receive into your arms of mercy our dear young sister. Wrap the wounded in your healing arms. And send your Holy Spirit to comfort and console those in shock and grief. In Jesus’ holy name. Amen.

Obituary and Service information for Martha Elizabeth Odom

Martha was a member of the Ascension Episcopal School Class of 2026 and embodied the school motto: Gentle, Generous, Truthful, Kind, and Brave. She was a light to everyone around her and, just as beautifully, saw the light in others-encouraging it, nurturing it, and helping it shine brighter. Thoughtful and intentional in all she did, Martha carried a quiet strength and grace. She led by example and with unwavering compassion. Her wit, wisdom, and sly sense of humor were hallmarks of her personality, and her warm, genuine smile lit up every room.

Book of Common Prayer draws Gen Z to the Anglican, Episcopal tradition

In St. Luke’s Chapel at the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale in New Haven, Connecticut, Books of Common Prayer slump in chair pockets, their spinal integrity lost to decades of common worship. Every day, seminarians pray liturgies that connect them to Anglican and Episcopal tradition.
