Priestly Ordination of Shelley Martin

God Willing, the Rt. Rev. Jacob W. Owensby will ordain the Rev. Deacon Shelley Martin on behalf of The Episcopal Diocese of Georgia to the Sacred Order of Priests at St. James in Alexandria on Saturday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m.

Presiding Bishop Curry Visits Western Louisiana

On Saturday, September 21, guests and speakers gathered at St. James in Alexandria for a panel on racial reconciliation as well as the premiere of Connections, a video showcasing racial healing efforts in the diocese. Click here to view the livestream of the event.

On Saturday night, following a catered dinner, Bishop Owensby and Bishop Curry engaged in a lively conversation about his experience as Presiding Bishop.

The weekend concluded with Sunday Morning Eucharist at St. James in Alexandria where Bishop Curry delivered a rousing sermon about the power of love. Click here to view the livestream of the event.

Holy Trinity, Sulphur, Potato Bake

Holy Trinity in Sulphur recently held its annual Potato Bake sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women. The Potato Bake was a fun event that included a White Elephant gift exchange- one of the few times in the church where stealing is encouraged.

2024 Diocesan Ultreya

The Secretariat of Western Louisiana is hosting Diocesan Ultreya in October. Bring your DeColores attire, pilgrim and stall name tags, musical instruments, and join the fun!


This will be held Saturday, October 26, at the Westley Center in Woodworth. It will start at 10:00 a.m.
