Pastoral Concerns

We pray for the repose of the soul of Larry Samuels, husband of The Rev. Deacon Peggy Samuels. Larry's involvement at historic Shrewsbury Parish Episcopal Church in Kennedyville included serving as Junior Warden and then as Senior Warden of the Vestry, Cemetery Warden, and as Chair of the Property Committee. He also served overall there for ten years as an Usher, a Sunday School Teacher, a Vacation Bible School instructor, and organized and served with other Parishioners for the monthly La Sagrada de Jesus Spanish Mission dinners.

In addition, he served on the Episcopal Diocese of Easton’s Property Committee, with oversight for thirty-eight parishes on the Eastern Shore, and on the Diocese of Easton’s / Bishop’s Property Committee for the Retreat Center at St. Paul’s Church in Hillsboro, providing rehabilitation management for this vital community center and historic property. We ask that your prayers be with his family as they grieve their loss. Read Larry's obituary here.

We pray for continued healing and comfort for the following people and their families: for Chancellor David Booth Beers. The Rev. Paula E. Clark bishop-elect of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. The Rev. Kevin Cross. The Rev. Mary Friel. Ellen Girardeau. Rev. Bryan Glancey & Barbs Glancey. The Rev. Jim Kamihachi & Weasie Kamihachi. Art Kendall & Bonnie Kendall. The Rev. Ron Knapp. Art Leiby. We pray for the many lives that have been affected by the Coronavirus. For those who have died; for the family members that mourn their loss. For those who continue to heal and for the skilled caregivers that continue to fight this disease – we pray for you.
