Jason Fortner and Jóel Muñoz to be ordained deacons

God willing and the people consenting, Bishop Jennifer will ordain Jason Fortner and Jóel Muñoz as transitional deacons on Saturday, December 4 at 11 a.m. Eastern/10 a.m. Central at Christ Church Cathedral. The service will be livestreamed on the cathedral's website.
Worship will follow cathedral regathering protocols. Clergy are invited to vest and process. The festival color is red.

Donate to the Global Missions Challenge |
|
The Global Missions Commission has challenged the diocese to match its donation of $23,700 to the diocese's mission partners in Haiti and Brazil.
Including the convention offering, the diocese has so far raised $15,669.47.
Donated funds will support:
• Repair of a well in Mithon, Haiti, that was damaged by Tropical Storm Grace and the earthquake that followed
• Lunches and Lessons at St. Andres School in Mithon
• A full year of operating costs for the community center at the heart of the Diocese of Brasilia’s outreach to the community in Pedregal
• Food baskets for families who rely on the community center for basic necessities.

Waycross Announces Staff Transitions |

This week, Waycross Camp and Conference Center announced several staff changes: |
|
Jenifer Oliphant, longtime director of operations, has announced she will retire at the end of March 2022. She and her husband, Chad, are planning to move to Vermont. During more than 13 years on the staff, Oliphant has been the “face of Waycross” to countless guests and groups. She was celebrated for her commitment to hospitality and customer service, and the Waycross community wishes her blessings on her retirement. |

Long-time Food Service Director Barb Hamm, who left Waycross in 2020, has returned to that role. Hamm, who has worked at Waycross for more than 20 years, managed Waycross’s food service program when it was first accredited by the American Camp Association.
The Waycross community extends its thanks to Tonya Buckler for her time as food service director. Hired during the pandemic, she took reopened and restocked two commercial kitchens in time for camp and Women’s Week in June. Her husband, David Stillwell, worked part-time as a lifeguard. The couple and their daughter, Alex, are moving back to New Albany, Indiana.

Project Resource Classes Begin February 6 |

Project Resource is offering a five-week stewardship course about year-round stewardship efforts and annual fall campaigns. Congregations may enroll teams of three or more.
Two-hour classes will take place on five consecutive Sundays starting February 6 at 5 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Central.

Although many congregations are now meeting in person, the bishop's office will continue to process online gifts on behalf of congregations, and will absorb all payment processing fees.
