Celebration of New Ministry at Christ Church, Bowling Green
The Rev. Steve Pankey will be installed as Rector of Christ Church, Bowling Green, March 7 at 6 p.m. CT. Fr. Pankey was formerly the Associate Rector at St. Paul's in Foley, Alabama. He began his new role at Christ Church on Jan. 8.
All are invited to attend the Celebration.
Clergy are asked to wear white stoles.

Congregational Leadership Conference March 18
The Diocese will host a Congregational Leadership Conference (formerly known as the "Wardens and Treasurers" conference) at Christ Episcopal Church in Bowling Green on March 18, 10 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. CT.
This free diocesan event is open to all vestry members (new and experienced), treasurers, stewardship chairs, clergy, audit committee members, and any other congregational leaders interested in this opportunity to share, discover, and learn best practices for the health and growth of our congregations.

Bishop announces Becky Meyer's retirement
Bishop White shares that Becky Meyer, Diocesan Controller, will retire from her position June 30 following nearly 30 years on the diocesan staff. Leading up to her retirement, Ms. Meyer will work Tues-Thurs as we prepare for the transition. More information on a celebration of Becky's retirement will be forthcoming.

Several candidates have applied for the open positions of All Saints Executive Director and Coordinator for Youth and Young Adults. The process continues with interviewing and announcements will be made when more information is available.

Hundreds attend 'We Welcome Refugees' witness

We Welcome Refugees" began as a conversation among Louisville-area clergy as a way to show support, concern, and solidarity with members and clergy of the diocese who are refugees. The event came in response to a Presidential Executive Order, which halted all refugee resettlement for 120 days and halved the number of refugees who would be admitted once programs resumed.
The witness drew a crowd of about 300 on Jan. 28, with an initial gathering with readings from scripture, statements from Episcopal Church leadership and prayer at Church of the Advent. From there, the crowd walked together to
Kentucky Refugee Ministries
, whose headquarters are nearby.
Many members of the diocese have come to the U.S. as refugees -- particularly from Burma/Myanmar and from South Sudan. Deacons Daniel Kuol and Kar Kar both came to the U.S. through refugee resettlement efforts.
Each year, the Episcopal Church partners with the federal government to resettle thousands of refugees through Episcopal Migration Ministries. Kentucky Refugee Ministries is the local affiliate partner of EMM.

'Unity Walk' steps up support for immigrants, refugees
 Hundreds of people gathered and marched through downtown Bowling Green on Feb. 4 to show support for diversity, immigrants and refugees in Bowling Green. Diocese of Louisiana hosting prison ministry conference in late March
The Diocese of Louisiana is hosting a prison ministry conference at St. James Episcopal Church, Convention Street at North Fourth Street, in Baton Rouge from
March 27-29, 2017
.
The conference is entitled "Proclaiming Hope in the Age of Mass Incarceration."
Speakers include the Rev. Deacon Charles deGravelles, Professor Jenny McBride, and others on such topics as restorative justice, advocacy, sentencing reform, re-entry initiatives, intervention, and societal disparities.
