The deadline for submitting applications to the Mission Funding Committee for 2018 grants is Thursday, June 1, 2017. More information, as well as applications for new grants and renewal grants, is available here and on the Mission Funding webpage of the Diocesan website.

Project Resource 2.0 helps mobilize dioceses

Louisville-area joint Vacation Bible School sessions

On Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8 p.m., several Louisville-area parishes invite children and adults to attend "Abundance Orchard" Vacation Bible School sessions taking place throughout the summer. More information is available here.

SUMMA Debate Camp offers students in grades 9-12 chance to join summer program

SUMMA Student Theological Debate Society is inviting high school students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2017 to apply for SUMMA Debate Camp, held July 18-26 at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. SUMMA Camp is a unique opportunity for students to explore their faith through intellectual channels and meet lifelong friends.

St. Matthew's seeking parish secretary

St. Matthew's Church is accepting applications for a parish secretary in a part-time role. A job description is available here.

Presiding Bishop Curry: 'Wake up'

Presiding Bishop Michael Curry returned to his old stomping grounds in the Diocese of Maryland, bringing an inspiring message and encouraging Episcopalians to claim their role as members of the Jesus Movement.

"'Heaven help the devil if the Episcopal Church ever wakes up,'" he said, quoting the famed 20th-century evangelist, Billy Sunday. Read more here .

Transitions

Becky Meyer to retire

Becky Meyer, Diocesan Controller, will retire from her position June 30 following nearly 30 years on the diocesan staff. Leading up to her retirement, Ms. Meyer will work Tuesday-Thursday as we prepare for the transition. More information on a celebration of Becky's retirement will be forthcoming.

Pat Connell to retire

Trinity Church, Owensboro has announced the upcoming retirement of the Rev. Pat Connell, whose last Sunday will be Trinity Sunday, June 11.

KCC names new executive director

The Kentucky Council of Churches has selected its new executive director, the Rev. Dr. Donald K. Gillett II.

"I believe in the collective wisdom and faith power of God's church to bring about meaningful and sustainable change for the least of these and look forward to our ministry together," he said.
