The 234th Diocesan Convention will be held on

Saturday, October 25, 2025

The Convention Committee on Agenda is grateful to those who responded to the survey about last year’s event. We read all of your comments and then started working on plans for the 2025 Convention. With the help of diocesan staff, the committee explored alternatives and several venues were contacted. We are excited to announce that this year the Convention will be held at the Park Theatre in Cranston. The site offers a bigger space, ample free parking (at Cranston City Hall across the street), great technology and separate spaces for lunch and the ministry fair. The food will be provided by a local caterer that works closely with the Park. They have presented a menu with many options for us. The per person cost for this Convention will be slightly higher than last year, but the committee believes that attendees will be pleased with this new venue.

If you have any questions, you can send an email to Convention@episcopalri.org

Or reach out to a member of the Committee on Agenda: Mr. George Nathanson, Ms. Ivy Swinski, the Rev. Bettine Besier.

Becoming Intentionally Intergenerational

Wendy Claire Barrie

March 20, 2025 7pm to 8:30pm Eastern

Churches have long been one of the few places in society where people of all ages gather. How do we move from being multigenerational to becoming intentionally intergenerational, and why is that important for congregational growth and vitality? Come, listen, and share your experiences!

Wendy Claire Barrie is Canon for intergenerational Ministries at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle, Washington. A writer, editor, speaker, and educator, she has served eight Episcopal congregations small and large on both coasts since 1989, including All Saints Church in Pasadena, California and Trinity Church New York City. She is the author of Faith at Home: A Handbook for Cautiously Christian Parents (2016) and the forthcoming The Church Post-Sunday School: How to be Intergenerational and Why it Matters.
