Vital University Missions' (Vital UM) weekly worship services  for the Spring Semester have begun at University of the Incarnate Word (Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m.), St. Mary's University (Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m.), and University of Texas - San Antonio (Thursdays at 1:15 p.m.). Vital UM in the Valley hosts weekly bible study groups and other activities for students at University of Texas - RGV campuses. Father Son Retreat will take place February 1 - 3 at Camp Capers. This weekend retreat for sons (ages six to eighteen) and their fathers, or father figures, is a special time of shared adventure and fun, plus honest conversations about faith and family. Life Transformed: The Way of Love in Lent is a seven-session Adult Formation curriculum that connects the Easter Vigil readings to the Way of Love: Practices for a Jesus-Centered Life, a set of practices set forth by Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. The Bishop's Valley Golf Classic benefiting Vital University Missions' (Vital UM) program in the Rio Grande Valley will take place on Friday, March 22 at Rancho Viejo Resort and Country Club. Team and sponsor sign up will be available after February 1 at dwtx.org/events
 
The Good, the True, and the Beautiful: The Bishop's Spring Retreat will take place at Camp Capers March 29 - 31. This weekend will focus on story-telling and spirituality and feature keynote speakers the Rt. Rev. Kee Sloan, 11th Bishop of Alabama, author and storyteller, and Radney Foster, Americana singer-songwriter and author. The Spring Women's Gathering is April 26 - 28 at Camp Capers. The Rt. Rev. Gary Lillibridge will lead discussion and study focused on women's profound impact on Jesus' ministry in John's gospel. The 115th Diocesan Council will begin Thursday, February 21 at the McAllen Convention Center with Registration at 10:00 a.m. Official business convenes at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and concludes at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23. For current information and registration, visit council-dwtx.org.
 
Seven Pre-Council Meetings with important information for attendees are being hosted throughout the diocese, beginning Sunday, January 20. Find your local Pre-Council Meeting information at council-dwtx.org/pre-council.

Youth in Action is a diocesan service lock-in for youth in sixth through twelfth grade, and will take place February 22 - 24. Hosted at St. John's, McAllen, the service projects will include painting and yard work at the Comfort House and sorting food donations for Emily's Meals. The Way of Love: Practices for a Jesus-Centered Life is Presiding Bishop Michael Curry's initiative inviting Episcopalians to Jesus-centered living through seven practices: Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Go, Bless, and Rest.
