Communication with the 5 Families
|
Hello and Happy New Year!
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the biennial MAFSI Conference in Carlsbad, California. During the conference I was able to participate on a panel with the distinct leaders of the five industry partners
(FCSI, MAFSI, CFESA, FEDA, NAFEM) to discuss how we can all work together to create great customer experiences without anyone operating at a loss. Throughout the panel all conversations led back to communication as the ideal way to foster and maintain open and honest relationships between supply chain partners.
On any given project, the ultimate success is end user satisfaction. For that to happen, all channel partners need to work together to ensure that each project is delivered seamlessly. Keeping open lines of communication is key so that the reps and factories are aware of what we are doing and assisting with drawings, quotes, specs and so on. Communication is also essential in the next phase when a dealer comes on board after bidding. Again, this is paramount as we lay out our expectations and work with the dealer to deliver the best project outcome possible. Finally, the service agents come into play during install and after project completion. Even on the best projects there are always issues that arise where we need to coordinate with the service agent to have minor fixes completed or help with a system that may not be operating correctly. Ideally, if we all work together, we can take care of any issues with minimal impact to the owner or client.
While it may seem that we only scratched the surface in our panel discussion, I am excited to keep this conversation going with our industry channel partners. Together we can all work together to ensure that we are delivering the best results possible to our clients and end users.
As this is the first Direct Connection of the year, and my first as Chair, I would like to say that I am greatly looking forward to serving the TAD members over the next two years. I welcome open communication and transparency as it pertains to FCSI, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me personally if you have any ideas, concerns or comments. Together we can continue to advance our organization in the right direction with clarity and an eye towards the future.
