How powerful is it be to be in person? In April of 2018 I wrote to everyone on the heels of an amazing conference in Denver and how much momentum and excitement there was in the society as we rolled into 2019 with Symposium, NAFEM, HOST as well as many other events and how cool it “will” be to be in Austin in 2020. Hard to believe what the last 2 years have brought us and little did we know that the power of being together was about to taken away.
In less than a month we will be TOGETHER AGAIN in Montreal. Excitement is likely just one of many emotions we are all having as we finally get the opportunity to be in person. A handshake, a hug, seeing a smile, these are things that we all took for granted back in Denver, oh and let’s not forget Silent Disco!! Our industry has been delivered so many “defeats” recently that it is time for us to get together, collaborate, and celebrate as we continue to lead the industry through thoughtful investment and an eye on the future.
I am sure we are all sick of Zoom, Teams and name-your-platform mute buttons, but the reality is that this group of passionate and talented people have really done a lot in the face of adversity over the last couple of years. I am so proud of our FCSI family with how we have all been able to pivot our businesses, adapt our processes, be nimble and still find ways to drive the industry forward.
Now it’s time to get together, raise a glass and pick the momentum back up in Montreal. A huge thank you to all of the members, sponsors, partners, planning committee and our incredible staff who have worked tirelessly to deliver us amazing content throughout this time and are now leading us to be TOGETHER AGAIN, see you in Montreal!

Compass Consulting Industry Report
|
This month's report warns that consumer confidence is at its lowest point in over 10 years with the drop primarily due to the 12.9% decline in personal income due to inflation and falling confidence in the government’s economic policies. Inflation is the consumer’s top concern with so many expecting it to impact them personally. The situation will drive the consumer to seek value in purchases, limiting/restricting some purchases and be driven back to price shopping. Read the February report here. The monthly Restaurant Industry Summary Report is available here.
