The Homestretch
Hard to believe that fall is here! Q4 2019 and 2020 is coming up fast to challenge for the lead! If I were a betting man, I’d say that the New Year is right around the corner and with it comes new opportunities and challenges for FCSI-The Americas. A few key items need mentioning and first and foremost goes a big congratulations from all of us to our newly elected The Americas Division Board Members, namely:

Chair – Eric Norman, FCSI
Chair Elect – Christine Guyott, FCSI, RD
Secretary – Kristin Sedej, FCSI
Treasurer – Brent Hall, FCSI (re-elected)
Immediate Past Chair – Bill Caruso, FFCSI (PP)

Latin America Trustee – Juan Matamoros, FCSI
Canadian Trustee – Patrick Watt, FCSI (re-elected)

5 At large Trustees
Mike Berard, FCSI
Lenny Condenzio, FCSI
Juan Martinez, PhD, PE, FCSI
Joe Schumaker, FCSI (re-elected)
Howard Stanford, FCSI

Allied Trustee
Jack Scott, CFSP – Alto-Shaam

My heartfelt thanks to all of those who ran for Board of Director positions and my encouragement for those above who either are returning or are newly elected. There is a lot of work to do, but this is an exemplary group and we can expect great results from them during their terms of office.

Secondly, the Board will be meeting in early November to discuss many topics of interest to our Division. One of our sessions will focus on Strategic Planning for the next few years. This is one of the most important subjects to be addressed on the Board’s annual docket because issues like long range planning, financial budgeting, membership retention strategies, etc., all will be front and center. We anticipate a lively discussion centered around making certain long range policy decisions that will make our Division even stronger over the coming years. The results of this will be discussed with the general membership at the annual meeting…so, stay tuned.

Thanks again for all of your support – let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best Regards,

William J. Caruso, FFCSI (PP)
Chair – The Americas Division
