Dear River Partner, I want to share some positive news about water levels with you. During last Friday's IJC webinar, US Section chairperson Jane Corwin spoke about the IJC's decision to authorize the International Lake Ontario St. Lawrence River Board's (ILOSLRB) to maintain outflow limits higher than those recognized to be safe for navigation. This article from WDT reports on the webinar: " IJC official: efforts to release more Lake Ontario water to continue after Seaway opens" . Ms. Corwin's language on the ILOSLRB's plans for the period of April 1 - 15 was quite specific, and we will share it with you once the webinar is available online. I still think we will have high water this season,  but every inch that can be drained off the system before the start of the Ottawa River freshet is important. We are making progress on the water levels issue through our advocacy, which is made possible because of your support of Save The River.

Save The River announces the return of Dr. Andrew Gronewold to speak on "Drivers of St. Lawrence River and Great Lakes Water Level Variability"

Save The River is excited to announce that Dr. Andrew Gronewold, our featured speaker at this winter's WEC, will be returning to Clayton on July 8 to speak on "Drivers of St. Lawrence River and Great Lakes Water Level Variability". We had to cut his question and answer session short at WEC due to time constraints, but people were lined up for a long time afterwards to talk to him.
