Live Weekly Digital Accessibility Office Hours


UCSF staff are invited to join the ongoing Weekly Digital Accessibility Office Hours sessions, which provide support and guidance for strengthening accessibility across digital content and services.


Current schedule:

  • Thursdays at 9:00 AM — the Thursday series will continue weekly

Educator Clinic: Creating Digitally Accessible Resources - Online


Monday, June 1, 2026

This 3-hour hands-on workshop is designed to provide faculty and staff with baseline understanding of digital accessibility requirements and provide them with basic skills to create learning materials that meet WCAG 2.1 A & AA standards across platforms and applications. The session will begin with a brief overview of ableism, disability in higher education, and resulting legislation. Participants will then learn to apply foundational digital accessibility practices in real time using built-in and third-party tools. This session is open to faculty and staff.


*Credits: AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (3.00 hours)

Café Crip is a monthly gathering hosted by the San Francisco Disability Cultural Center to talk about important topics within our disability communities. In May, we’re discussing Emergency Preparedness. Facilitator Bianca Laureano leads the group through community agreements and access principles to ensure everyone can join this informal community-building hangout.

NIH Strategic Plan for Disability Health Research


The National Institutes of Health (NIH) released its Strategic Plan for Disability Health Research. This agency-wide plan outlines a comprehensive roadmap to support innovative and responsible research aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of Americans with disabilities.


The plan seeks to achieve four primary goals:

  • Advance the science of disability health by supporting innovative, rigorous, person-centered research.
  • Foster a highly-skilled, multidisciplinary, and sustainable health research workforce.
  • Support accessible, state-of-the-art disability health research resources and infrastructure.
  • Engage in collaborative, responsible, and ethical management of disability health research activities.
