DISABILITY AWARENESS

October 2nd is International Disabled Author's Day. It celebrates the hard work, accomplishments and creativity of talented published authors with disabilities and books that feature disabled characters. If you'd like to support disabled authors by reading their stories, we've created a reading list to get you started.

In addition, we are thrilled to highlight an exhibit at the Downtown Library to raise awareness of Dyslexia. The exhibit was created by two local high school students, Ivy and Mason. It links to booklists for kids and adults, dispels some myths, and features quotes from influential people with dyslexia. While you are there, check out some books to learn more. Thank you Ivy and Mason, for this educational opportunity for our community!
