UMass Medical School's Disability Evaluation Services team understands the challenges of navigating the disability process. We have assembled a team with the expertise to make the experience smooth sailing for our clients. Our team serves individuals or organizations seeking assistance with disability determinations, injury and disability management, operational consulting, or specialized training.

Utilizing the academic knowledge and clinical resources of UMass Medical School, Disability Evaluation Services delivers customized services and effective results that make a difference. Here is a sample of our offerings and qualifications, with links to our new website:

  • Disability determinations
    We provide cost-effective, timely, accurate, and fair disability determinations within established legal parameters. Our specialized programs range from case backlog reduction to outsourcing services to program evaluation.
  • Our team
    We use a clinical staffing model that equips us to manage the full spectrum of disability-related issues. Our team consists of physicians, psychologists, registered nurses, rehabilitation counselors, and allied health professionals who meet certification and licensing standards.
  • Metrics
    We measure performance goals at each step of the disability determination process using industry standards as well as local, regional, and national Social Security Administration benchmarks.
  • Quality Assurance
    Our Quality Assurance Committee performs randomized detailed reviews on processed cases. To to provide a continuous feedback loop and proactively identify training needs, the results are analyzed, compared to performance benchmarks, and disseminated to our team.
  • Injury and disability management
    Our staff members are well-versed in helping public entities and private organizations analyze, develop, and maintain effective injury and disability management programs through services such as case management and disability benefit coordination.
  • Consulting and infrastructure support
    We provide on-site operational process analysis, training, and support to improve programs, systems, structure, and processes.
  • Learning Disability Assessment Program
    Disability Evaluation Services offers comprehensive vocational assessment and psychological evaluation to identify learning disabilities and provide individualized strategies and suggested accommodations to help each client achieve success.
