message from our CEO

Darla Wilkerson.jpg

Darla Wilkerson, CEO

Spring is coming and I couldn’t be more excited about the potential of warmer weather and our 2022 educational events. Continuing with last month's message about being intentional, I mentioned that it’s crucial to bring commitment, focus and attention to something that is important to you. For CDI, our focus this month is to highlight Developmental Disability Awareness Month and to offer some additional information during our Disability Inclusion Network meeting on March 15 from Duane Shumate with the Developmental Disability Division of the Missouri Department of Mental Health. Along with Duane, our second partner spotlight is Julie Hoch with Burns & McDonnell sharing their disability inclusion efforts. Don’t’ miss out.

All year long we will be intentional with spotlighting many business partners and community partners and their efforts to promote disability inclusion efforts so you can learn from them, embrace the strategies shared, and make new connections. I hope you will join us the third Tuesday of each month from 9:00-10:00 am CST. I encourage you to invite others to join

as well. See below for details.

We realize that many businesses are still working to enhance their self-identification campaigns and are looking for continued resources. We are listening! This month, on March 9 at 10:00 am CST, Michael Murray, our Board of Directors VP and Chief Relationship Officer with GT Independence will be presenting a session titled "Stand Up and Be Counted: Strategies to Increase Self-Identification". See details below.

I look forward to seeing you this month at one or more events.
