Disability advocates stress need for more state Medicaid staff and direct care workers
“Year after year, I observe the demoralizing effects on the staff at the Division of Medicaid who are repeatedly unable to meet the expectations of our state,” said Idaho Council on Developmental Disabilities executive director Christine Pisani. “I’ve watched countless quality staff leave the division because the workload is too tremendous due to too few staff.”
Legislators circulating petitions to call special session and address presidential primary
“I don’t see a strong desire in the Legislature at this moment to come back for a special session for this,” petition backer Sen. Scott Herndon, R-Sagle, told the Idaho Capital Sun. “It’s possible, but maybe not probable.”
Patrons of the West Bonner County School District turned out en masse this Tuesday and voted to recall two members of the school board after months of tension in the district. Kevin Richert from Idaho Education News joins Logan Finney to break down the results.
Voters passed six supplemental levies and a bond issue during Tuesday’s elections. The funds are slated for building repairs, security enhancements and computers.
Recall elections are rarely successful at any level of Idaho government — including school boards. The most recent successful trustee recall took place in November 2020.
