Relief after the Los Angeles Wildfire

In Los Angeles, Humanity First USA volunteers are still providing relief. The teams are in the affected areas distributing water and snacks and offering specialized aid.

Medical help: HF volunteer physicians have staffed pop up medical clinics since last week at the Pasadena Job Corps Center and with nonprofit It’s Bigger Than Us at a local hotel. In addition to the victims of the fire, first responders and volunteers are experiencing negative health effects of smoke and ash.

Under an open-sided tent people sit on opposite sides of a table. A woman on the far side reaches over the table to examine the arm of a person seated opposite.
A man wearing blue humanity first gear and a stethoscope puts a blood pressure cuff on a man seated under an open-sided tent. The seated man wears an orange t shirt that says volunteer.

Legal help: Humanity First USA continues to offer free legal support to help victims navigate the complexities of recovery. If you need a consultation, please email legalhelp@humanityfirstusa.org.

Home clean up:

As residents return to manage damaged homes, Humanity First volunteers are helping to move and clear belongings and debris.

“The Humanity First Student Organization on each of these 50 campuses is an exceptional program that empowers our youth to engage in philanthropic work, fostering an understanding of the needs of others and promoting care for those in need, both domestically and internationally.

This youth-led program offers invaluable opportunities for students to contribute meaningfully to society and make a positive impact, helping to build a better world for all.”

~Munum Naeem, Chairman & Executive Director of Humanity First USA.

The HFSD is the official student auxiliary of Humanity First USA and oversees HFSOs on high school and post-secondary campuses. Student volunteers work with communities and individuals affected by natural disasters, poverty, and other challenges. HFSD aims to provide students with invaluable skills and experiences to develop into future leaders.
