"Specials" Subs Needed!

All subs are wonderful, but not all the same! Our need is especially great for substitute teachers who are registered through Edustaff and Brighton so they can cover for our specialist teachers (Art, Music, Technology, P.E., Spanish, Library/Media)

The Shared Time program we use , (Brighton) will only pay their subs for the specialist classes through Edustaff . Currently we have only 2 substitutes from the Edustaff AND Brighton systems from which to call upon. If they aren’t available, we either have to cancel the classes or pay our IHM subs through our budget, which creates a shortfall.

Edustaff/Brighton subs get paid more than IHM subs. Edustaff /Brighton requires any 4-year-degree, and does not require a teaching certificate.

Anyone willing to register to be a specialist sub through Edustaff/Brighton , please email kdechant@ihmschoolgr.org for instructions.

T.O.B. Tidbit #4

Human persons were created to be “for” others and not to exist in isolation away from or against other people. The way we reflect God’s image is not only through our intellect and free will, but also through the deep call to communion within each human person. God has given us the gift of ourselves, but we “cannot discover ourselves except in a sincere gift of self” (Gaudium et Spec 24) We are all called to become a “gift of self” to others through our God-given masculinity or femininity. We are all in need of others who can help us discover our call to self-giving love.”

GOOD NEWS AROUND CAMPUS

Good thing Jack and Henry L were scheduled to be Principals for the Day yesterday as Mrs. Lake was under the weather! Morning announcements, official name tags, declaration of comfy cozy day and no homework made for a fun break from the grueling schedule they attend as students. Thanks guys!

Midwinter Break is coming up Monday Feb 17 and Tuesday Feb 18.

IHM Preschool Aide Mrs. Maria Weber and IHM Office Staffer Mrs. Colleen Lowe are each on 'grandbaby watch' for their second grandchild each. Go figure!

IHM Alums at Catholic Central represented us well this past quarter as the elementary school with the most kids on the honor roll. Go ch-IHM-ers!

IHM 7th graders begin preparing for the Lenten Presentation of the Living Stations of the Cross next week.

Mark your calendars for Friday March 28 at 6:00pm and/or Wednesday April 2 at 1:30 pm during the school day to take in this beautiful Lenten prayer.

St Francis Xavier Food Pantry will be the recipients of 1252.6 pounds of non-perishable food donated by students today. The Annual Souper Bowl Canned Food Drive is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and will generously be providing a pizza party to the winning grade. This year, Mr. Hummels Sixth Grade with 219.8 pounds and an average weight per student of 8.14 pounds took first place. In second place, our Seventh Grade with an average 7.48 pounds per student and in 3rd place, our Third Grade with an average of 6.33 pounds of food per student.

From the Principal:

Hello IHM Families!

What a blessing this week to have several sets of grandparents and a parent in to lead the Divine Mercy Kids Club! Many kids participated and will learn all about the Divine Mercy prayers and origin. These grandparents (and parent) are helping to pass on the faith in such a tangible way! I'm grateful for their continued commitment to the kids! Our kids are so blessed by so many people behind the scenes and right in front of them helping them find their way to Jesus! Please include students and families of IHM in your regular prayers!

Blessings,

Holly Lake

Principal
