Sacred Triduum

Sundown on Holy Thursday to sundown on Easter Sunday is considered the most solemn part of the liturgical year.  The Sacred Triduum is one great festival recounting the last three days of Jesus' life on earth, the events of his Passion and Resurrection, when the Lamb of God laid down his life in atonement for our sins.

"Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ's Paschal Mystery" (USCCB).

Enter into the celebration: Tonight ,the Mass of the Last Supper begins at 7pm; Good Friday Service 1:30 pm; Easter Vigil Mass begins at 9:15 pm Saturday: Easter Sunday morning Masses at 8:30 and 10:30 am.!

From The Principal

Hello IHM Families!

I wish you all a very Blessed Triduum! I hope you all can experience the beauty of our faith in these days leading up to Easter. What a beautiful gift this time is for all Catholics to participate in the days leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection. Our 7th graders' presentation of the Stations of the Cross was an amazing way to enter into this deeply spiritual time! I pray you encounter Jesus in a meaningful way as we enter into Triduum and then the glorious Easter celebration!

As we continue our planning for next year, we have two beloved staff members who have let me know they are retiring from IHM. Mrs. Debbie Sremba has been at IHM as a lower elementary aide since 2002. She is retiring to spend more time with her grandchildren. We are indebted to her for her kind and loving nurturing of our little ones over the years. Mrs. Wendy Kuzma has been our dedicated librarian since March of 2016. She even took on Kindergarten STEAM a couple years ago. We are grateful for her contagious love of reading and her creative lessons over the years! She will be scaling back to part time at a school very close to her home so she can be helpful for her children and grandchildren! As we look at staffing needs for next year, we will communicate what we are looking for. I know we need a librarian/media specialist, and this is a position through Brighton shared time program. We will get it posted soon, but in the meantime if anyone knows an individual who would be a great addition to our staff, please let me know!

Have a BLESSED Triduum and Easter!
