From the Principal's Desk

Hello IHM Families!

What an amazing science fair we had this week! Our 7th and 8th graders really showcased their exceptional academic achievements. Their research questions were so intelligent! Thank you to Mrs. Kathy Menno for your countless hours spent preparing the students. She is such a blessing to our community. Thank you to all the judges and the middle school teachers for their help as well.

We are so excited to kick off our capital campaign to the entire parish this weekend! Our "Forward in Faith: Building Disciples" capital campaign has already generated many of the funds needed to build a new preschool building and create a teacher compensation fund for more competitive salaries for decades to come. Our preschool building is sweet and homey, but it is also all broken up and small. It was built as a rectory and then a convent. Because of the square footage of the rooms, we can't put as many preschoolers as we would like in the rooms. The new preschool will allow for more students without even adding more staff! The demand for the enrichment program has grown and it's been difficult to keep spots available for those who need it. Our teachers are dedicated members of the community and the area public schools pay higher salaries than we do. We want to provide a just wage so we can attract and keep our dedicated faithful teachers. They are called to a Catholic school, and we need to make sure they are justly compensated for their teaching and working to bring the students closer to a relationship with Jesus. I'm so grateful to our generous donors so far in the campaign and I invite you to participate as well. The Co-Chairs of this campaign will be speaking at all the Masses this weekend and then in the Hearts and Hands room after each Mass to share and answer questions. I will be there too! This is an exciting time for our parish! I hope to see you this weekend.

Blessings,

Mrs. Holly Lake

7th & 8th Grade Science Fair Success

We are so proud of our 7th and 8th graders and the incredible work they put into their science fair projects! From creative experiments to thoughtful research, their curiosity, problem-solving, and dedication were on full display. The judges were blown away by how well prepared they were and the questions they asked. A big shout out to Mrs. Menno who guided these students through thuis process. Congratulations to all who participated, especially our top ten and our first place winner, Ashley M. Way to go!

4th Grade Songfest

Our 4th graders spent the day at West Catholic High School preparing for the 30th annual Songfest. They had a great day and got to meet and eat lunch with their St. Thomas penpals. Later in the evening they joined 16 other schools for a wonderful night of community and song. What a tradition!

Please note that unless there is something specially arranged in the classroom, ALL TOYS need to STAY HOME. We have had an influx of squishy toys lately. They are distracting, can get lost, and keep students from doing their work. We are here to learn and want to keep our focus on that. Thank you for helping with this request.

Come out and support our IHM students that

are performing in the CC play this weekend!

Get Your Child An Autographed Copy!
