Hello IHM Families!

What a beautiful week of spring weather! Of course, with it being Michigan, that is changing soon! We are so excited to welcome you to our Family Open House this weekend immediately following 10:30 Mass! It's so nice to be able to have special guests throughout the building and celebrate our beautiful Catholic school! While we had the groundbreaking ceremony last week, there is still minimal activity on the site of the new preschool, but next week we will see things ramp up! It takes some time to prepare the area for such a project. I want to thank the amazing Capital Campaign Cabinet, who have been working so hard to secure the funds for the preschool and the teacher compensation fund. Some of them are school families, but there are 71% parish members who do not currently have children in the school. It means so much to have the support of these wonderful people who believe in the mission of IHM. Thank you for your adjustments to the pick up car line in the afternoons. This has been going so well! We appreciate your cooperation as we had to pivot!

We had a great time welcoming our incoming kindergartners to the "Big School" on Tuesday night at our Kindergarten Kick-Off! Enjoy a few adorable pictures!

Attention First Grade Parents!

As has been the tradition at IHM for many years, the parents of 1st grade students are asked to send in (2) dozen home-baked (or like home-baked) cookies for the 2nd graders’ First Communion reception. Please deliver the cookies to the school office on Friday, May 1st, by 3:15p. If you have questions feel free to reach out to Maureen Jeakle (mjeakle@gmail.com). Thank you!

Corpus Christi Catholic School is hosting an event with Protect Young Eyes on Thursday, April 30th called "Understanding Fabulous and Fragile Brains." The committee that is hosting the event would like to extend the invitation to all ADULTS in the Catholic community who would like to attend. It is free of charge. They are closing the window to order yearbooks. If you have not yet ordered one, now is the time to do it! Your child's teacher has a list of who has not ordered one - check with them if you are unsure.

Catholic Schools Art Show

Mark your calendars for the Catholic Schools Art Show sponsored by the Office of Catholic schools! Student artwork from 22 participating schools (including IHM) will be on display in the Wege Conference Center at Cathedral Square on Friday, May 1 from 3:30pm-7:00pm and Saturday, May 2 from 9:00am-5:00pm. The event is free and open to all! Plan to attend and view the artistic talent of the Diocese of Grand Rapids Catholic school students!

Teacher Appreciation Week is Coming Up!

Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up with week of May 4th-8th and our amazing Home & School Association has put together a fun week for our teachers. Required Immunizations for Students for Next Year

As registration for next year is wrapping up, we are reviewing all student records. Students entering preschool, kindergarten and 7th grade have specific immunizations that are required by the state to attend school. If you choose not to immunize your child or , you will need to provide a certified non-medical waiver from the Kent County Health Department. Please click to view documents below for more information.
