Dear Assumption Faculty and Staff,

Given the rapidly changing global situation with regard to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the College strongly discourages international travel by faculty and staff during spring break. While this recommendation may impede scholarly research or disrupt vacations, the global coronavirus crisis requires the College to remind you of appropriate action to promote the safety of the campus community.

Those who decide to travel internationally may be prohibited from returning to campus for a minimum of 14 days (possibly longer depending upon Centers for Disease Control guidelines) from the individual’s date of reentry to the United States.

With regard to individuals travelling to areas with a U.S. State Department Level 3 or Level 4 Travel Advisory (China, Iran, Italy and South Korea) they will be prohibited from returning to campus for 14 days. If the U.S. State Department designates a Level 3 or 4 Travel Advisory for other countries, visitors to those countries will also be prohibited from returning to campus for 14 days.

If you have any questions or concerns, or plan to travel overseas during spring break, faculty should contact their Dean and staff should inform their Division Vice President as we strive to promote the health and safety of the campus community.

We appreciate your cooperation.

Sincerely,
