Dear Assumption Students,
Given the rapidly changing global situation with regard to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the
College now strongly discourages international travel by students during spring break.
Those who decide to travel internationally may be prohibited from returning to campus for a minimum of 14 days (possibly longer depending upon Centers for Disease Control guidelines), beginning from the date of reentry into the United States.
With regard to students travelling to areas with a U.S. State Department Level 3 or Level 4 Travel Advisory (China, Iran, Italy and South Korea) they will be prohibited from returning to campus for 14 days and are encouraged to self-isolate. If the U.S. State Department designates a Level 3 or 4 Travel Advisory for other countries, visitors to those countries are also prohibited from returning to campus for 14 days.
Please know that this recommendation is made in your best interest and safety as well as the safety of the Assumption community. We appreciate your cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, or plan to travel overseas during spring break, please contact Deborah Cady Melzer, Ph.D., Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students at 508.767.7325 or
