Have you gotten a camp song stuck in your head?
A favorite of the Night Hawks and Night Owls, the song “Days of Elijah” reminds us in the chorus to “Prepare ye the way of the Lord”!
The season of Advent is a time of waiting, of anticipation, and one of preparing our hearts and minds to embody the story of Christ’s birth. A savior, who comes into the word as an innocent child, is coming. Year after year, we are reminded that God’s story is always unfolding, and we are invited to be a part of it and dream of what the future may hold.
Paul’s words in Colossians 3:12–14 remind us of the virtues that shape our community: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience… and regardless of what you put on, wear love. These are not just ideals but the very fabric of camp life, woven into cabin devotions, shared meals, and the friendships that last far beyond the summer.
As we look in anticipation towards the coming year, we envision a year where these virtues guide every retreat, every program, and every camper’s journey. Were all can recognize that love empowers us to act in the world and sustains us even when we feel weary. Together, we will continue to build a future rooted in Christ’s love, where faith flourishes and hope shines brightly.
Thank you for being a part of the ministry of 2025, and for looking in anticipation with us towards the work of God in the year to come.

Leadership Opportunities at Camp Onomia!
Leadership Training Experience (LTE) — for High School Youth
Spend two intentional weeks honing your God-given gifts and discovering what it means to lead with confidence and faith. Week One focuses on training alongside peers, building skills, practicing leadership, and learning how your gifts serve others.
Week Two invites you to return for a week of your choice to help lead a cabin, activities, and more, supported by a mentor counselor. LTE is an excellent next step for youth involved in LYO (Lutheran Youth Organization) and a strong primer for those considering future service on Onomia staff.
Summer Camp Employment & Custom Internships — Summer 2026
Camp Onomia is hiring cabin counselors and leadership team members for Summer 2026. Your summer. Your adventure. Your impact. Grow in community, gain hands-on leadership experience, make a lasting difference in the lives of young people, and deepen your faith.
As you gather this holiday break, we invite pastors, parents, mentors, and congregational leaders to share these opportunities with young people who yearn for real-life experiences rooted in creation, community, and Christ. Encourage them to take a step toward leadership, purpose, and faithful service at Camp Onomia.

Preparing the
way Together
It often begins quietly. A knot tied a little tighter. A story shared across a table. Laughter breaks through hesitation. Over this Advent season, these moments have helped us prepare the way together, one link, one thread, one spark, one circle at a time.
At Camp Onomia, this journey has unfolded through stories of hope, peace, joy, and love, each grounded in simple, sacred moments that open hearts and change lives.
| | Since 1949, Camp Onomia has offered a life changing experience for all to encounter Christ through Creation and community. | | | | | |
