February 2019
Dear Colleagues:
Earlier this month, we took a quick break from reviewing applications and went on a few surprise high school visits in our Long Island backyard. It was a wonderful way to honor National School Counseling Week! See below for our photo op with Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington. We want to acknowledge all school counselors and how hard they work for their students. So this is a heartfelt thank-you—from us to you. Keep up the great work!
And please take a few minutes to read on and learn about our programs and get to know us better. Our personalized approach, small classes and dedicated faculty are truly changing lives. Stay in touch!
All the best,
Office of University Admissions

First-Year Students Share Their Pre-College Experience
|
|
 |
Sean Dugan, Business major
“I found
the course
very challenging, but Professor Erogul made it fun and engaging. He was supportive and approachable in every way. I was able to develop a business plan along with a team of other students and we presented it at the end of the course. It created the momentum I needed to get started on the business track."

Megan O'Haire, Psychology major
“My Pre-College
psychology
experience was really great! It helped me get used to living on a college campus. I still talk to the friends I made in those two weeks. We became a really close-knit group. I also got college credits, which really helped me out, and I learned a lot from Professor Feeley, who is now my academic adviser.

Julian Zelazny, Computer science major
“It was a really great experience! We got to see our own game creations get built and come to life. My
video game programming
professor was Lee Stemkoski and I ended up enrolling at Adelphi because, I guess, he inspired me and I loved the campus
."

Michaela Ryan, Nursing major
“I chose to pursue nursing at Adelphi University because I knew I would be happy here after my amazing experience in the
Pre-College nursing course
. It’s been almost three years, and I’m still in touch with the friends I made that summer in Pre-College.”
