World-Class Academics. Personal Approach. Successful Outcomes.
February 2021
Dear Colleague,

Despite challenging times, a record-breaking 14,200 first-year applications have been submitted to Adelphi so far, with fall applications still rolling in. That means many of you have already shared the Adelphi story with students. Thank you as always for the work you do! I know these days you are pressed for time, multitasking and prioritizing your students.

Students choose Adelphi for a number of reasons: our location near New York City, strong academic offerings, generous scholarships and financial aid, or after a positive interaction with our welcoming and diverse community. Our impressive outcomes are also important: 94 percent of our recent undergraduates have jobs or are in grad school within just six months of graduation, and they earn an average salary 38 percent higher than the national average.

During these next few weeks, you may have Adelphi-accepted first-year or transfer students coming to you for guidance or next steps. Feel free to share this website. And please don’t hesitate to lean on our team for support or any questions you may have.

It’s my sincere hope that your students will begin the next chapter of their lives with us, here at Adelphi University.
Take care,

Adelphi Will Remain Test Optional for Fall 2022
Adelphi remains committed to current student health and safety, and we know that the current pandemic continues to impact our students and families nationwide. In light of this, Adelphi will extend its test-optional policy for another year. This will allow students the option, but not the requirement, to submit the SAT or ACT for Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 admission. In addition, merit scholarships will not be contingent on submission of test scores. We hope that this decision will help to reduce the stress of an already complicated process for many students and families. NEW Program Spotlight: Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences
Choosing Adelphi—In Their Own Words
Last fall, 1,345 first-year and transfer students—from 21 countries and 33 states—chose Adelphi because we allow students to find their own path to success in a close-knit, supportive community. A few recent grads explain why:
Amy Lin '18, BS in Nursing, was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and an Adelphi campus recreation student supervisor while pursuing her degree. She is currently an emergency department nurse at New York Presbyterian Hospital:

"My experience at Adelphi has been unforgettable. It has enriched my life in so many ways, helped me sharpen my skills and increase my confidence in the medical field. It's like no other university."
Rheba Sam '18, BS in Molecular Neuroscience, is pursuing studies for the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Campbell University:

"One of the best things about the neuroscience program is that the classes and the major are intimate and small. You really get to know your professors and they get to know you. At Adelphi, your professors become your mentors."
Fernando Krause '17, BA/MA in General Psychology, is currently an adjunct professor at the Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology and a third-year clinical psychology PhD student at Adelphi:

"I have all good things to say about my past undergraduate experience at Adelphi. Not only was my clinical interest reinforced by many professors, but I also got heavily involved in psychological research due to my mentor’s influence, Dr. Michael Moore. I would not be in Adelphi’s clinical psychology doctoral program today if it were not for the program’s amazing support, structure and opportunities."
Jose Velazquez '18, BS in Physics, completed his MBA in Finance at Adelphi in 2020 and is currently an assistant coach for the track and field team at Adelphi:

"Starting from day one, I knew I'd found a family in the physics department at Adelphi. The professors were invested in seeing us succeed and helped us customize our program of study. Being able to fulfill my dual passions for physics and athletics made my Adelphi experience one I'll cherish for the rest of my life."
