Get Ready for a Season of Connection and Growth at Grace - Join Us!
Grace Global Methodist Church | 1206 Smith Street | Waller, TX 77484 US
October / November at Grace
Fall is officially here! Now…where is the cool front?
The calendar says fall arrived September 22. The pumpkins are appearing, the leaves are decorating everything in sight, and here in Texas we're still wondering when the weather plans to participate.
But whether we're drinking pumpkin spice in 65 degrees or 95, fall at Grace is here—and there is a lot happening!
Over the next several weeks, we’ll have opportunities to gather around tables, serve our community, grow in faith, welcome our neighbors, and remember the saints who have gone before us.
Whether you’ve been part of Grace for years or you’re just getting to know us, there is a place for you in what’s happening this season.
Sunday, September 27 —
Pastor Ben Tibbs Preaching
On Sunday, September 27, Pastor Ben Tibbs will be in the pulpit while I sneak away for a short birthday vacation!
Grace is Pastor Ben’s home church, although his ministry sometimes takes him away on Sunday mornings to preach for other pastors and congregations. We’re always glad when we get to keep him home—and especially grateful that he’ll be preaching while I’m away.
His message will be:
“Committing to Jesus”
1 Peter 2:19–25 & John 10:11–16
I hope you’ll be there to worship with your Grace family, hear the Word Pastor Ben has for us, and remind him how happy we are when somebody else doesn’t borrow him for the morning.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study
Our Wisdom for Everyday Life Bible study continues next Tuesday!
We took a break this week, but we’ll be back together on Tuesday, September 29 at 10:00 AM as we talk about “Forging Great Friendships.”
October 6 — Humility Over Pride
October 13 — Turning Fear Into Awe
Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or haven’t joined us yet, you’re welcome to jump in anytime.
Come join us Tuesday morning!
Yoga at Grace
Take a little time to stretch, breathe, and reset! Join us for yoga at Grace—a welcoming space for all experience levels. Come as you are, bring your mat, and enjoy some time caring for body, mind, and spirit.
Beginning Sunday, October 4, we’re starting a new series called More Than Membership.
When we become part of the church, we make promises—to support the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. But those words are meant to be more than something we say during a membership service. They describe a way of living together as the Body of Christ.
Over five Sundays, we’ll take a closer look at each of those promises and what they mean for our everyday lives:
October 4 — Prayers: One Table, One Body
World Communion Sunday
October 11 — Presence: Stay With Me
October 18 — Gifts: Enough to Give
October 25 — Service: Faith in Action
Reformation Sunday & Bible Sunday
November 1 — Witness: Carry the Story
All Saints Sunday
Then on November 8, we’ll bring it all together on Commitment Sunday as we consider how God is calling each of us to say, “I will.”
This isn’t simply a series about church membership. It’s about what it means to belong to Christ—and to one another.
National Night Out — Grace Will Be There!
Tuesday, October 6 | 6:00–8:00 PM
Marburger Plaza — in front of Waller City Hall
National Night Out is a chance for our community to come together, meet our neighbors, connect with local first responders, and celebrate the community we share.
And Grace is joining the fun!
We’ll be at Marburger Plaza offering free face painting and spending the evening connecting with families from around Waller.
Come by, say hello, bring the family, and help us show our neighbors a little Grace!
TNT — Thursday Night Thing
Thursday, October 8 | 6:30 PM
Joe’s Italian
260 Cottonwood, Hempstead
Men of Grace, TNT is back!
Join the guys for an evening of food, fellowship, and foamy beverages. There’s no complicated agenda—just a chance to get together, enjoy a meal, laugh a little, and spend some time with the guys.
Sunday, October 11 | Immediately Following Worship
One of the promises we’ll talk about during More Than Membership is presence—and sometimes presence looks as simple as pulling up a chair and sharing a meal together.
Stay after worship on October 11 for our Second Sunday Fellowship Lunch. Bring something to share if you can, bring a friend, and plan to spend a little extra time around the table with your Grace family.
Food. Fellowship. Family. That’s a pretty good Sunday.
Stewardship Update & Lunch
Sunday, October 18 | Immediately Following Worship
Fellowship Hall
Week three of More Than Membership brings us to our promise of Gifts, and following worship we’ll gather for lunch and a stewardship update.
This will be an opportunity to look together at where we are as a church, where we believe God is leading us, and how our shared generosity helps make ministry possible.
Lunch is provided by the church, so all you need to bring is yourself.
Generosity isn’t simply about what we give. It’s about recognizing that everything we have belongs to God—and asking how we can faithfully use what He has entrusted to us.
All are welcome.
Bibles & Bagels
Sunday, October 25 | 10:00 AM
Fellowship Hall
Come hungry!
Before worship on October 25, we’re gathering for Bibles & Bagels. Breakfast is on us, and everyone is welcome.
October 25 is also Bible Sunday, and during worship our children will receive Bibles of their own as we celebrate the gift of Scripture and our responsibility to pass the faith from one generation to the next.
Bring the family. Bring a friend. Come as you are.
Breakfast at 10:00 AM • Worship at 10:45 AM
7th Annual Trunk or Treat + Car Show
Saturday, October 31 | 11:00 AM–3:00 PM
It’s time for candy, cars, costumes, and community!
The 7th Annual Trunk or Treat + Car Show, hosted by Waller Brite Nites, is coming October 31, and Grace will be there!
You’ll find us right in front of the Ministry Center as families from across our community come out for an afternoon of Halloween fun.
We need the Grace family to help us make it great! You can decorate a trunk, help pass out candy, or donate candy for us to give away.
This is one of those wonderful opportunities to open our doors, meet our neighbors, and simply be present in the community God has placed us in.
All Saints Sunday
Sunday, November 1
Coffee & Donuts at 10:00 AM
Worship at 10:45 AM
All Saints Sunday is a sacred opportunity to remember those who have gone before us—the people whose lives, love, and faith helped shape our own.
During worship, we will pause to remember, give thanks, and entrust those we love to the everlasting grace of God.
This Sunday will also conclude our More Than Membership series as we consider our final promise: Witness — Carry the Story.
The saints who came before us carried the story of faith to us. Now that story has been entrusted to us to carry forward.
Come remember. Come give thanks. Come worship.
All are welcome.
Looking Ahead: Commitment Sunday
Sunday, November 8
After five weeks exploring our promises of prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness, we’ll come together on November 8 for Commitment Sunday.
This is not simply about filling out a card or making another church promise. It is an opportunity to prayerfully consider:
How will I live these promises in the year ahead?
Not because the church needs names on a list, but because following Jesus was never meant to be a spectator sport.
Together, we’ll have the opportunity to answer:
I will.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study
Our Wisdom for Everyday Life Bible study continues next Tuesday! We took a break this week, but we’ll be back together on Tuesday, September 29 at 10:00 AM as we talk about “Forging Great Friendships.”

Our church phone can now receive TEXTS!
Our old landline number is now a church cell phone. The number hasn’t changed, but the way you can use it has!
Someone will be available to answer calls, and you can now text us, too.
Have a question? Need information about something happening at Grace? Have a prayer request you’d like us to be praying for? Call or text the church number anytime.
And say hello to Morgan!
We’re excited to welcome Morgan Frazier, our new Church Administrator, to Grace! Morgan will be helping keep things running behind the scenes and will also be one of the friendly voices helping you when you call, text, or email the church office.
Be sure to introduce yourself and help us give Morgan a warm Grace welcome!

🎃🍂🧡 A Season to Live It Out 🧡🍂🎃
There’s a lot on the calendar at Grace this fall.
There are meals to share, Bibles to open, neighbors to meet, candy to hand out, saints to remember, and plenty of reasons to simply spend some time together.
But I hope somewhere in the middle of all of it, we remember that church is about more than keeping a busy calendar.
Over these next several weeks, we’re going to be talking about the promises we make to one another as the church—our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. And my hope is that we won’t just talk about them on Sunday mornings. I hope we’ll find ourselves living them.
Because sometimes presence looks like staying for lunch. Service looks like painting a child’s face or handing out candy. Witness looks like inviting someone to come with you. And sometimes prayer is simply noticing that the person sitting beside you could use one.
As we move toward Thanksgiving, I’m especially grateful for the people who make Grace what it is—not because we all do the same things, but because each of us brings something to this family.
So come when you can. Serve where you can. Invite somebody along. And keep looking for the places God might be asking you to say, “I will.”
