Do & Be Arts Academy of Excellence, DBAE – a free K-8th grade public charter school that gives students a space to discover, understand, and use their voice through arts-integrated academics and the visual and performing arts.
DBAE‘s mission: is four-fold, 1) to empower students to use their creativity,
2) to think outside the box and make the change in the world they want to see,
3) to achieve academic excellence, and 4) to broaden their perspectives through the arts.

Message from the Executive Director
Dear DBAE Families and Supporters,
Thank you for your outstanding attendance at our monthly events! We enjoyed showcasing amazing artwork during our DBAE Explore Nights and had a productive collaboration with our first community partner, Team Playground Rules. We also appreciated the opportunity to tour the school and meet many wonderful families in person.
There are several important updates as we prepare for the upcoming month:

Moving Day: We will be moving into our new space on Monday, June 2, 2025.
Starting Mid-June, we will begin hosting walk-in office hours at our school building while we set up classrooms. Volunteers will be helping with furniture assembly and organization—stay tuned for information on how you can assist!

DBAE Family Voice Meeting: Our parent association committee, DBAE Family Voice, will hold its first virtual meeting on June 5 to discuss our upcoming plans.

Call for Artists: We are seeking artists interested in partnering with us to provide workshops in fine arts, including theater, dance, music, visual arts, media arts, and film. This will enhance our students' exposure to all five art forms this year.

Thanks to your support, we are excited to announce that we have successfully added grades four, five, and eight for the 2025-2026 school year! We are currently about 40 students away from full enrollment, which is crucial for a strong start to the school year. Please continue to share our posts to help us reach our goal.
