Do & Be Arts Academy of Excellence, DBAE – a free K-8th grade public charter school that gives students a space to discover, understand, and use their voice through arts-integrated academics and the visual and performing arts.
DBAE‘s mission: is four-fold, 1) to empower students to use their creativity,
2) to think outside the box and make the change in the world they want to see,
3) to achieve academic excellence, and 4) to broaden their perspectives through the arts.

Message from the Executive Director
Dear DBAE Families and Supporters,
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you! Your support throughout June, from attending our info nights and events to sharing our posts on social media, has been incredible. Because of your efforts, we filled our remaining 40 seats in just four days after adding 4th, 5th, and 8th grades. We officially exceeded our enrollment goal, which our board and the state approved, paving the way for our smooth opening on August 11th.
To all our enrolled families—please make sure to read the Friday Connect emails and newsletters carefully. These will have all the essential details you need, including transportation, before and aftercare, the first day of school, spirit wear, and more.
Our next DBAE Family Voice Meeting will be held virtually on July 3rd at 6:30 PM via Google Meet. We’ll be finalizing details for our much-anticipated Grand Opening on July 17th.
We are in need of volunteers throughout July to help us prepare for our big day. Key volunteer dates:
- July 1, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 15
- Volunteer hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (except Saturday, July 12: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Volunteer tasks include:
- Building, moving, and deep-cleaning furniture
- Assisting with technology setup
- Organizing curriculum, supplies, and materials
- Administrative and office support
Please also save the following important dates:

As we prepare to open our doors for the very first day of school, We are reaching out for some extra hands and hearts to help us bring our shared vision to life. In the coming days, we will be assembling furniture, organizing classrooms, cleaning furniture, and moving supplies throughout the building to ensure everything is ready to welcome our students with joy and order on day one. We know everyone is balancing busy schedules, but if you’re able to spare some time, your help would make a world of difference.
