Driven by the evidence-based Parents as Teachers curriculum, our team equips parents with the practical resources, tailored insights, and individualized coaching necessary to cultivate healthy child development and fortify family bonds.

The Parent Resources for Education Program (PREP) is a comprehensive, home-based initiative serving families in Midland, Gladwin, Clare, and Isabella counties. PREP empowers parents to actively support their child’s early growth and development by offering personalized home visits, engaging educational resources, and strong connections to community support.

We work with families who have children from prenatal to age 6 years old. Our approach equips parents with the knowledge and tools they need to foster learning, enhance school readiness, and nurture confident, resilient children. By focusing on the strength of the parent-child relationship, PREP not only prepares children for success in school but also helps families build the foundation for a lifetime of stability and well-being.

Through PREP, we are helping children and parents thrive, during the crucial early years and far beyond.

The Power of Showing Up: How Trust Helped One Father Keep Moving Forward

I have been working with a family for 10 months. When I started with this family, it was mom and dad; their 2 children were placed out of the home. Mom and dad both had many barriers they were attempting to overcome. Including mental health, sobriety, transportation, employment, and housing.

While working with the family, both parents were involved in individual counseling and couples counseling and working with our Building Community Partners program.

After a few months of working with both parents, they split up; Mom no longer wished to participate in the program. Dad continues to work with the PREP program. While he has had some setbacks, he continues to work on himself to be the best father he can.

Adoption Option Inc. Celebrates Staff Appreciation Week

July 13-17 was Staff Appreciation Week at Adoption Option Inc. Activities included dressing up as your favorite character, Team Color Tuesday, AOICWO history and trivia, a potluck, and fun and games at Valley Lanes! To view more photos, click here!

Supervisors served up hot dogs and hamburgers for staff.

Team Camo went all out with matching outfits.

Adoption Option Inc. Celebrates Family Reunification Award and Local Reunification Success

Adoption Option Inc is proud to announce that Morgan Gould has been selected as the recipient of the prestigious 2026 Guy Thompson Family Reunification Case Manager Achievement Award, while Foster Care Worker Georgia Townsend and a family she partnered with were spotlighted by the state as a reunification success story. Brian Hamilton, a parent advocate for AOICWO’s Building Community Partners, earned the Case Manager Achievement Award in 2025.

Gould works with AOICWO’s Parents and Children Together (PACT) supervised visitation program. She was recognized for her ability to build trusting relationships with families, advocate for parents during challenging circumstances, and inspire hope throughout the reunification process.

The Guy Thompson Champion for Reunification events are sponsored by the Michigan Supreme Court, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, State Court Administrative Office, Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Services, Michigan Court Improvement Program, and the Michigan Federation for Children and Families.
