Success Story

From Anxious to Engaged: A Client's Inspiring Journey.

We're thrilled to share a significant success story highlighting the incredible progress of one of our dedicated mental health clients! Initially experiencing considerable anxiety, particularly around attending appointments, this young adult has demonstrated remarkable growth in managing their Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

A key focus of our work together has been fostering increased social engagement outside the home. Our client has made wonderful transformations by actively building a meaningful connections and expanding their social circle, even pursuing employment opportunities. Most impressively, our client has shared that they are consistently utilizing their learned coping skills on a daily basis.

This journey exemplifies the power of consistent effort, the development of effective coping mechanisms, and the courage to step outside one's comfort zone. We are incredibly proud of our client's achievements and their dedication to building a more social and fulfilling life. This success story underscores the potential for positive change and reinforces the impact of collaborative therapeutic work.

Community Connections

Aleshya Spruill, our Best St. Early Learning Director, delivered an inspiring presentation on Social-Emotional Development for young children at the Coming Together for Young Children Conference in Concord, NC.

Our Executive Director, Norma Honeycutt, delivered an amazing keynote about the “whole new world of family support," at the Smart Start of Mecklenburg County Partner Powered 2025 Conference.

Partners in Learning recently hosted an inspiring event, Women in Business, which highlighted the remarkable contributions of women within our community. The celebration took place in the enchanting setting of Norma's Way Adventure Forest, a fitting backdrop that reflects the nurturing spirit of collaboration and growth. At the heart of this gathering was Norma, a trailblazer in early education who has dedicated over 27 years to empowering young minds and shaping the future of our community. This event not only honored the achievements of women but also fostered a sense of unity and encouragement, reminding us all of the profound impact that dedicated individuals can have on the lives of others.

PIL Professional Tip of the Month

High-Quality Support for Children with Autism

April marks Autism Acceptance Month, a time when our Partners goes beyond acceptance to champion true inclusion. At our Bill Wagoner Autism Clinic, our distinctive ABA program makes a profound difference in the lives of children and their families. Through high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, we provide individualized, evidence-based interventions that empower children by teaching essential skills and reducing challenging behaviors, all while understanding the reasons behind those behaviors and fostering positive growth through reinforcement.
