Partners Needed to Support Book Drive for WAKE Up and Read
|
|
|
|
Can you imagine a home without books? Unfortunately, this is a reality for over 30% of children in Wake County. WAKE Up and Read is kicking off the 10th Annual Children’s Book Drive to close this gap. Building home libraries is one of our biggest initiatives, and they need YOUR support!
Three Ways to Support the Drive
-
Host a children’s book drive
-
Purchase books from the WAKE Up and Read Wish Lists or at local bookstores.
-
Make a financial donation towards new book purchases.
Books collected during the Drive will allow over 9,000 children at our 15 partner schools (including Wakelon Elementary in Zebulon) and 17 childcare partners to build their home libraries. Our goal is to allow each child to not only select from gently-read books but also select 2 new high-interest, inclusive books. Will you join and help meet these goals?
Zebulon Chamber of Commerce is an official WAKE Up and Read Annual Book Drive Partner. Please consider hosting a book drive in your place of business for the month of February. Email the Zebulon Chamber to discuss how you may become a partner with this effort.
