Do You Need to Make an Academic Advising Appointment?
Many students now qualify for our Open-Ended Web-Enablement Process. This initiative aims to provide qualified students with easier access to course registration without academic advisement through web-enablement resources, allowing for a more flexible registration experience that promotes student accountability and ownership.
To qualify for the Open-Ended Web-Enablement Process, students must meet both the following criteria:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher;
- Have a minimum of 12 earned credit hours at Midlands Technical College.
If you meet the above criteria, you are eligible to plan your Spring 2025 classes now and register without an advising appointment. We also want to make sure our students understand that having questions about your planned courses is okay. To get you the answers you need quickly, Academic and Career Advising provides drop-in hours to allow students more opportunity to get their questions answered without having to wait for an appointment.
Drop In Hours are:
· Monday and Thursday – 10:15 am – 12:00 pm
· Tuesday and Wednesday – 1:15 pm – 4:30 pm
It is important to remember:
· Drop-in hours are both in-person and virtual;
· Students using drop-in hours are served on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you have been advised but still need help with Course Planning and Registration – no worries! We have Scheduling Navigators working Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and from 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Fridays that can help you cross the finish line. You can visit them on-campus or via Zoom – whatever is convenient for you!
