Dear New England Tourism Industry,
As many of you know, Lori Harnois, Discover New England’s (DNE) executive director since 2014, has taken a new position with New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism. While we will miss Lori’s expertise and energy leading DNE, we are happy for her new venture and wish her the very best. You can still expect to see her at many travel events and shows. Thank you for everything, Lori!
DNE’s board of directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Christopher Jennings as the new executive director to lead the organization into the future. Chris has more than 25 years of helping organizations in the tourism, economic development, and nonprofit sectors to reach and exceed their goals.
Chris’ experience developing high-ROI, cost-effective marketing, communication and PR solutions for state and regional destination marketing organizations is sure to be a tremendous asset to DNE.
Chris returns to New England after most recently holding the position as Chief Tourism Development Officer for the Spartanburg (South Carolina) CVB. Previously, Chris was President of the Mystic Coast & Country Travel Industry Association, Tourism Director for the State of Missouri, and Tourism Director for the State of New Hampshire.
Please join the board in welcoming Chris back to New England and to the DNE community. His official start date is March 2.
And, while we are still in the midst of winter in New England, we are looking forward to several important and exciting events scheduled throughout the spring.
DNE and New England state delegates will attend the largest travel trade show in the world, ITB, in Berlin, Germany, on March 4-8. As always, it’s a pleasure to market our special corner of the United States to our core markets both in-country and abroad.
Have you registered for the Summit? This year, the show is being held at Sunday River Resort in Newry, Maine. We’ll be celebrating the 25th year of the Summit, as well as Maine’s bicentennial.
We hope to see you there!
