We're happy to share this essay by a 4th grader from Yarmouth Elementary School located in Maine..........
Do you like beautiful sunsets? And do you like playing in the water? And do you also like to bike around? If so, you should go to Anna Maria Island, and you can enjoy all of these things on the island. Anna Maria Island is the best place to go in Florida, because you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets at night. You can see them from your house and from the beach. It lights up the whole sky with an orange swirl. You can play in the sand and watch them at the same time. You can play in the turquoise water. You can find a lot of sand dollars in the water. The water is really clear, and you can see a lot of sea life. When you snorkel, you can see the tropical colors of the fish. You can also surf in the water. For example, when the waves are big, they can knock you off your board if you are not quick enough. You can bike all over the island. You can bike to the docks and see pelicans. You can also bike to the donut shop and pick out donuts. You can smell the donuts cooking as you get closer and closer. It is also fun to bike at night, because there aren't many cars on the road. You can put a bike light on your handlebar, and it brightens the night sky. Finally, now that you have read my essay on Anna Maria Island, from going on bike rides, to swimming in clear water, then watching the beautiful sunset at night, you may now also agree that it is the best place to go in Florida.
