FEBRUARY 25, 2026

As the shortest month of the year draws to a close, the ROE has been busy hosting numerous workshops, meetings, and events at our office and around the community. Last week, we held the semifinals for the Kane County Spelling Bee and look forward to watching the remaining eight students compete in our Regional Bee, taking place on Wednesday, March 18, at 6:00 p.m. at Thompson Middle School in St. Charles.

Our staff is also preparing to welcome over 1,000 educators to the Kane County Institute Day in just a few days. If you will be there, we encourage you to use #KCID26 and share your experience with us on social media!

School staff members and emergency response personnel from across Kane County are invited to participate in our reunification training sessions this summer. Originally designed by the I Love U Guys Foundation, this training equips participants to navigate crisis situations where students may need to be relocated to off-campus sites, and how to effectively reunite those students with family members.

Both sessions (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) are FREE to attend! They will both cover the same content, so attendees only need to register for one of the two sessions.
