Caring Ministries at Immanuel
GriefShare is a weekly video seminar featuring some of the nation’s foremost experts on grief recovery topics. Each seminar is combined with small group discussion to give you time to talk about the content of the videos and about how you are dealing with the death of your loved one. Immanuel's next GriefShare session begins Mon., Sep. 9 at 6:30 PM. Please contact Christin Hager at with questions.

Stephen Ministry is a system through which members of Immanuel are trained and organized to help provide confidential Christian caregiving to members of our congregation and community. This multiplies the amount of caring ministry that Immanuel can provide by giving us a whole team of skilled caregivers who are equipped to bring Christ's healing love to people who are grieving, in crisis, or experiencing other stresses in life. If you or a friend could benefit by this confidential ministry, contact one of the pastors or call our referrals coordinator, Sue Marvel, at 630-844-6562.

Meeting Now
  • This study group will begin the year with heart of Jesus and will transition into a study that will help people understand the book of Revelation.

Beginning Sun., Aug. 25
  • SUN. ADULT FORUM, 9:30-10:30 AM
  • Facilitators Bob Schmidt and Elvin Harms will introduce the planned topics and calendar for the year. The primary study will be a survey of the world's leading religions using the recently-published book, The Christian Difference, as a guide. Adult Forum will formally begin in two weeks, along with the remainder of Education Hour offerings (no Adult Forum over the Labor Day holiday).

Beginning the Week of Sep. 1
  • Acts applies to our lives in powerful ways. At this Bible study Pr. Chris walks with participants through the scripture to help them identify and apply these lessons in daily life.

  • Each chapter exposes the enemy’s cruel, crafty intentions in all areas, then equips and encourages you to write your personalized prayer strategies on tear-out sheets you can use to regularly pray over yourself and your loved ones.

  • EXPERIENCING GOD, THU., SEP. 5, 7 PM **Virtual Class**
  • This class digs into biblical narratives that demonstrate how God has always pursued you and invites you to become involved in His work. You will learn to listen for God’s communication through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church. as the starting point for a vital relationship with God. This class is offered online for those who are unable to make it to Immanuel for the full class commitment.

  • JOYFUL JOURNEY, TBD **Prerequisite: Experiencing God**
  • God is present: Here. Now. Experiencing God's presence brings, healing, peace and connections, but like any other relationship, experiencing God's presence takes practice. Joyful Journey provides the steps for one way of exploring mutual conversation with God. Sharing this with others deepens neural levels of connection in the brain as we speak and listen to others.

  • Travel through the pages of Scripture to see relationships as never before. Journey through the Bible and look at relational skills from well-known characters. As you discover these relational skills, you will be inspired to build them into your own life, and begin that process through exercises with your group. The thrill of growing in your own skills will only be outdone by the experience of joy-filled, thriving relationships.

  • The Bible is not a collection of scattered stories and books. From cover to cover, the Bible is the story of God's plan to redeem sinners through Jesus—the gospel. Gospel Foundations tells that story. Videos to help the group engage in discussion with a clear understanding of how each text fits into the storyline of Scripture.
