Principal's Corner
by Donna Laughlin
  • Pr. Erhard, St. John Lutheran Church and School, Chicago, joined us for chapel last week and shared a message. Immanuel is partnered with St. John-Chicago in the Northern Illinois District’s Stirred to Love program. Immanuel and St. John-Chicago were randomly assigned to each other by the NID, but God’s hand was certainly in the process as the two congregations have many connections. Mrs. Suydam and Mrs. Bierlein both taught there, Mrs. Faga’s former student teaches there, Kari Larsen is close friends with the Erhards, and Dan Nottke’s father attended school at St. John-Chicago. We look forward to creating many more connections through our Stirred to Love partnership!
  • Student council elections were held in Grades 3-8. The results for class representatives are: G3, Ashleigh Nickel and Nathaniel Lambert; G4, Ally Popp and Mason Anderson; G5, Meadow Hughes and Justin Black; G6, Tessa Lejeck and Gabriel Stein Rodrigues; G7, Cayla Oldenburger and Evan Bloemker; G8, Sarah Jerdee and Sam Carroll
  • Our JV volleyball team played their last game of the season, throughout which they have shown lots of growth and incredible Christian sportsmanship. The varsity girls volleyball team placed third at the St. Paul Mount Prospect tournament this past Saturday and are heading to the state tournament in Springfield next weekend. Our cross country team participated in their state meet in Bloomington last weekend. Three of our runners are headed to the national meet at Concordia University-Wisconsin this weekend: Cody Rummel, Madeline Cassidy, and Sean Heetland. Sean Heetland won first place and broke the state record by 17 seconds, running two miles in 11:01 minutes.

Instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education Box Tops mobile app is available now. It features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products, and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online. We still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, "double dip" during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products. Thanks for helping our school get what it needs!
