Principal's Corner
by Donna Laughlin
·  Our cross country team did very well at the national meet at Concordia-Wisconsin.  Nine Lutheran schools from nine states participated. Madeline Cassidy placed sixtieth overall out of 181 girls, which was twenty-eighth place in her division.  Cody Rummel placed one hundred sixteenth overall out of 218 boys, which was fortieth for his division; Sean Heetland placed fourth overall and fourth in his    division. We are so proud of our Eagle runners!
·   Our Fall Sports Banquet was this past Tuesday. The Christian Character Award is given to a boy and girl from each varsity team. Recipients were: Madeline Cassidy (cross country), Cody Rummel (cross country), and Brooke Rummel (girls volleyball). Parents commented that night that they are proud of their children’s accomplishments, but they are most proud of their Christian conduct. I couldn’t agree more.
·   We celebrated Reformation Day this week with a special chapel service on Oct. 31. Students in G3-8 sang A Mighty Fortress is Our God in both German and English and we learned how God provides for us, even in our darkest hour.
·   The students collected chapel offerings totaling $130.73 in October for the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry.

Operation Christmas Child Packing Party, Fri., Nov. 15, 3:30-6 PM, Gym
Immanuel’s Operation Christmas Child Packing Party is just a few weeks away. This year’s event includes magician Scott Piner and a free hot dog dinner, along with packing shoe boxes with gifts and messages that share the love of Jesus with children around the world.
You may have noticed collection bins in various locations in our community, but the following items are still needed: wash cloths, bar soap, coloring books, and matchbox cars. Please place donations in the receptacles in the church and school lobbies. Thank you so much for your support of this important global outreach!
More than 300 people are expected to pack boxes and enjoy other activities. Come join the fun...and bring a friend!

Christmas Cookie Day at Illinois Youth Center-St.Charles
Sat., Dec. 7, 12-3 PM
We will sing Christmas carols, visit, pray, and deliver a Christmas gift of one dozen homemade cookies to each young man. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring light to a dismal place and announce the love of Jesus to these young men. If you feel called to join this team, there are two ways to help: We need 200 dozen cookies…our goal is to give them to each youth and IYC staff person. Be might be part of the team that enters IYC and visits with the young men. These volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Interested? Please contact Erica or Tony Ciro at or or call 630 251 6761 by Nov. 18.

Instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education Box Tops mobile app is available now. It features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products, and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online. We still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, "double dip" during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products. Thanks for helping our school get what it needs!
