  • Our sixth graders helped Matt Cassidy, Director of Student Ministry, lead chapel and shared their experiences at Walcamp Outdoor Education last week.
  • Our middle school students held their first Sweets for Sudan bake sale. They raised $196.50!
  • We hosted the first conference home volleyball game this season. Both our JV and varsity girls teams are 2-1 for the season. Our varsity girls are playing in the Immanuel Belvidere tournament this weekend, and the JV team will host our tournament here on Sat., Sep. 28.
  • We also hosted our home cross country meet at Marmion, with eight schools in attendance.
  • Immanuel’s own Cody Rummel placed first in the JV boys division with 10:07 min. for 1.5 miles. Sean Heetland placed first in the varsity boys division with 11:30 min. for 2 milles. Maddie Cassidy, a sixth grader who ran for our varsity team, earned a fourth place ribbon. If she had run with the JV team she would have placed first, but she challenged herself to run with the varsity team because she is trying to qualify for the state meet.
  • Our first PTL restaurant night is at the Chipotle on Kirk Road on Tue., Sep. 24, 4-8 PM. Details and a link to the required flyer are available below!

Quarterly Blood Drive, Sun., Oct. 20, 8-noon
Thanks to generous blood donors--and the Versiti Blood Center’s innovative research--Adelaide Yost is living a normal, healthy life. Adelaide has von Willebrand disease. At age five, she had multiple spontaneous bleeds and received blood transfusions that helped save her life. “We were fortunate blood was available to treat our daughter. Now, we can look forward to her future,” says Adelaide’s mom, Katie. To help Katie and others in need of life saving transfusions, consider making a blood donation at Immanuel's Quarterly Blood Drive on Sun., Oct. 20, 8-noon. Sign up for a time slot on the clipboard in the church lobby or here.

Help Needed

We are still working at cleaning up the south (blue house) property. Trees and shrubs in the front yard have been trimmed and that brush has been hauled away. The large brush pile behind the house still needs to be cleaned up. As much of it as possible will be hauled to the curb for city brush pick up. The remainder of the pile will be separated into yard waste, trash, or wood for the chipper (chipper day coming the end of the month). There are additional trees and shrubs on the grounds to be pruned and/or cut down as well.

The following work days and times are scheduled:
Sat., Sep. 28, 8-4 PM
Sun., Sep. 29, 1-5 PM
Sat., Oct. 12, 8-4 PM
Sun., Oct. 13, 1-5 PM
