The Perry Youth Advisory Council (PYAC) kicked off the 2025–2026 term with their first meeting last month! Click the video above to watch.
Their first official action was electing Chloe Shelton as Chairperson and Rylee Arbogast as Vice Chairperson. They are joined on the council by Reginae Dawson, Lillian Floyd, Law Leonard, Andrew Peske, and Eve Scott. Together, they will focus on promotion, leadership, and impact throughout the year.
These students are your youth representatives, bringing the voice of Perry’s teens to the table. If you are a Perry youth, connect with them and share what matters most to you!

The City of Perry Job Fair is coming up on November 13, 2025 at the Perry Events Center from 2:00 – 6:00 PM.
This event is designed to help fill staffing vacancies, collect resumes for future opportunities, and connect local residents with job openings right here in Perry.
Businesses interested in hiring can participate as vendors! Perry-based businesses will be prioritized.

City of Perry Wins Two National Awards for Signature Community Events
The City of Perry is honored to be recognized with two national Savvy Awards from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) for the Perry Independence Day Celebration and Perry Buzzard Drop.

The City of Perry Fire & Emergency Services Department received a total of 328 calls during the month of August in 2025. You can view the entire breakdown below.
The Perry Fire Department is a 2-station department that contains a staff of firefighters providing fire protection, emergency medical services, technical rescue operations, fire safety education, fire cause investigation, and fire code inspections to a population of over 26,000 across 27.9 square miles.

Master Gardeners of Central Georgia | Fall Garden Festival
The Master Gardeners of Central Georgia will host their First Annual Fall Garden Festival on Saturday, October 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the UGA Houston County Extension (2030 Kings Chapel Road)!
The festival will feature free family activities, gardening demonstrations, local vendors, plant sales, and more.
Admission and parking are free. Proceeds will support local scholarships.
