In addition to educating future veterinarians, LSU Vet Med is a biomedical research institution with scientists conducting research to improve the lives of people and animals. Most of these scientific investigations are funded by by grants.


The Director of Graduate Programs is a senior-level faculty position that oversees the operation of all graduate education programs at LSU Vet Med. This position provides vision and leadership for the School’s graduate education mission and will help build upon the already strong reputation that the School enjoys for education. The Director will also work to foster diversity, inclusion and a sense of belonging among our student body. Fostering a sense of belonging among our international students will be a particular emphasis for the role. This position serves at the pleasure of the Dean, and serves departmental chairpersons, and the Graduate School to promote the recruitment, retention and success of students in our numerous graduate and dual degree programs.

Our Office of Research and Graduate Education is led by Dr. Tammy Dugas. She is assisted by an administrative coordinator and two grant managers. We are looking for a director of graduate programs.
