Power of Purpose – Meeting the Right People
As the owner of The Ludwick Agency,, a private investigative and security consulting firm, I’m unique among Suncoast NPI. As of this writing, there are no other private investigators
in any of the various chapters around the area.
Many private investigators I talk with suggest that belonging to a networking alliance is a “waste of time” or “doesn’t work,” but they are flat-out wrong; they truly don’t understand the “Power of Purpose.” Fortunately, I do, and it has helped me and my business more than they will ever know.
My 23 years in the FBI taught me a lot about networking, working with people, and understanding teamwork and collaboration. But what all those years in the FBI did not teach me was how to run a business. For me, that is exactly what Suncoast NPI has done through our theme for this month: To Meet Professionals You Otherwise Would Not Know.
Yes, Suncoast NPI has brought me referrals, but the true value I’ve seen has been building a network of people I would never have met or been exposed to. I’ve leaned on my Suncoast NPI network for advice on marketing, advertising, billing, management, administration, and even state bureaucracy. These talented and experienced people in Suncoast NPI have willingly offered support and guidance to help me and my business grow, and all from people I would otherwise not have known. Critically, this advice and guidance often come from people who own businesses that don’t necessarily seem like good referral partners for a private investigator, but through the power of many 1:1s, I’ve learned to expect the unexpected. The professionals within Suncoast NPI, no matter what they do, always seem to have something to offer. These intangibles are priceless.
I’ve been doing investigations in some form or another for close to 30 years. I’ve run the gamut of espionage investigations, cyber, criminal, counterterrorism, technical operations, management, leadership, and so much more as a Special Agent in the FBI.
As a private investigator, I’ve found missing people, advised on security strategies, provided court narratives on electronic surveillance, interviewed accident witnesses, and worked on infidelity cases. Not to brag, but I am good at what I do. However, I am still new to running a business, and through our Power of Purpose, specifically by Meeting Professionals I Otherwise Would Not Know, I can couple my investigative expertise with a network of people who can help me with the things I am not an expert on, like building and growing a business. Over the past few years, the networks I’ve built and continue to develop have been instrumental to my success. Thanks to all of you, and here’s to those business owners I have yet to meet. Let’s schedule a 1:1 to learn how to help each other!
