Sarah Vrabic of the SchoolHouse Connection (SHC) will discuss SHC's latest report "Infant and Toddler Homelessness Across 50 States"at the October 30th Children's Work Group Early Childhood Conference.

[Please note that we are moving October's regularly-scheduled meeting to the 30th.]

Adele Struble of the Early Learning Resource Center #18 (Phila) and Erin Blair of National Nurse-Led Care Consortium will respond to the report and discuss challenges and successes.

SCH asserts that there are more than 510,000 homeless infants and toddlers throughout the nation, including more than 14,600 infants and toddlers living in Pennsylvania.

SHC wrote that their report " ... reveals just how little is known about how homeless families are accessing services, what the dfata shows across every state, and the solutions alreadying making a difference. This year's report also breaks down estimates by single year of age, [and] expands home visiting data to include the federaly funded MIECHV programs."

Ms. Vrabic is the Early Childhood Senior Program Manager at SHC, and one of the first staffers for HopePHL's Building Early Links to Learning (BELL) Project in Philadelphia. She is a Pennsylvania resident, and a graduate of Villanova University.
