Ballard Performing Arts General Meeting: Tonight,Tuesday March 26th is our BPA General Meeting at 7:30pm in the PAC (auditorium). There will be an important announcement about next year's budget, upcoming fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities. Afterwards there will be a mandatory breakout session for Symphonic and Wind Ensemble families traveling to Disneyland. Traveling student must also attend.

Little Shop Thank Yous: Thank you to everyone who attended Little Shop of Horrors. The show was amazing and we received many positive comments from the Ballard community.

Little Shop T-shirts: The thespians are selling Special Edition Little Shop shirts for $10. There are 3 styles and sizes in limited but various amounts. Get yours today and help support the theatre program. Contact Mr. Riley or any thespian student to get one.
Band
Mandatory Disneyland Meeting Tonight: All parents, students and chaperones are required to attend the mandatory Disney meeting  tonight   at 7:30pm in the Performing Arts Center.   
To be discussed are:
  • Disney itinerary including
  • flight assignments,
  • identification requirements
  • chaperones introductions
  • exchange contact information
  • review the code of conduct and trip rules
  • hand out custom Disney Performing Arts t-shirts

Pep Band Members Needed for the Running of the Beavers: Help kick off the annual “Running of the Beavers” 5k fun run at Golden Gardens on Saturday, March 30th by entertaining race participants. Call time is 8:30am and you can earn service hours. Be sure to wear your black band shirt and take your instrument home Friday night.

Final Vancouver Trip Fees Due: Advanced Chorale and Concert Choir trip fees are due April 2nd. The total student fee is $475. The fee for chaperones is $320. Please pay HERE.

BHS Choral Showcase : On April 3rd we showcase Ballard choirs to the middle and elementary schools. We need volunteers to help at the event.

Orchestra
Music Aid NW: A big shout out to the BPA Fiddlers who blew the audience away at the Music Aid NW fundraiser held on March 16th. This fundraiser along with the Music Matters license plate sales goes to support struggling school music programs. 
The WMEA Executive Director, Scott Ketron, said this of the fiddlers “ They played a great program and the guests were really enamored with them...Please let the team know how much they are appreciated by me, the WMEA, Music Aid NW and guests...”
Way to hit it outta the park.

Spring Play Auditions: Not a department to "sit on our laurels", auditions for the spring play are:
  • Thursday, March 28th at 3:45pm in the Black Box.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Audition information can be picked up from Mr. Riley in the Black Box or from the links below.

 
We are ending our season, not with the previously planned Tartuffe, but with two one act plays dealing with gun violence and school shootings to pay attention to the 20 th anniversary of the Columbine High School shootings. Bang Bang You're Dead and Eric LaRue are both hour long plays. Bang Bang … deals with the issue from the students’ perspective and Eric LaRue is from the Parents’ perspective.
