Disneyland Resort, Jamboree Housing and City of Anaheim Celebrate New Affordable Housing Community

FinamoreResizing image

Representatives from Disneyland Resort joined partners Jamboree Housing Corporation, the City of Anaheim and other stakeholders to celebrate the grand opening of a new affordable housing community in Anaheim — Finamore Place. The new, nearly three-acre residential community provides 102 residential units, outdoor open space and public art, along with wraparound mental, healthcare and educational services. Finamore Place was

made possible, in part, through the Orange County Housing Trust, which provided a $1.5 million grant through funding from Disneyland Resort.

"Disneyland Resort is committed to helping those facing homelessness by providing funding to help get projects like Finamore Place across the finish line,” said Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort. “Anaheim is our home and it’s incredible to see what we can do when we come together and partner with our community to make a meaningful difference.”

Following the recent release of an economic impact study on the Disneyland Resort’s multiyear public planning effort to expand in Anaheim – DisneylandForward – Governor Gavin Newsom received a briefing on Disney’s plan to invest in the region. He also attended Disneyland’s first-ever Disney After Dark Pride Nite event.

As part of its DisneylandForward initiative, Disneyland Resort released the study from Cal State Fullerton’s Woods Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting. The study showed that every $1 billion that Disney invests to expand the Disneyland Resort is expected to generate more than $250 million annually in economic output and $15 million in tax revenue for the City of Anaheim, as well as create more than 4,000 construction and 2,000 ongoing operations jobs.

Disneyland Resort Cast Members and Chrysalis Make a Difference in Anaheim

Chrysalis image

As part of its workforce development initiative, Disneyland Resort partners with nonprofit organizations such as Chrysalis to empower Anaheim’s workforce of tomorrow. Since 2018, the resort has helped Chrysalis support job seekers with valuable resources with the goal of uplifting vulnerable individuals to find pathways to stability, security and fulfillment.

Recently, Disney VoluntEARS hosted three events to support Chrysalis’ job-readiness program in Anaheim: a clothing drive where cast members donated business casual clothing for interviews, a volunteer event with the Disney Ambassadors to organize the donated pieces and a hiring event to help participants build their skill sets and secure pathways to new careers.

Disneyland Resort Cast Members Participate in Sunrise Yoga for International Yoga Day

Yoga image

One of the perks Disneyland Resort cast members enjoy is unique experiences and events like gathering in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21. The Disney Be Well Event ushered in the summer solstice with sunrise yoga led by Shinobu Tygi. Shinobu believes that celebrating International Yoga Day is an invitation to focus on improving overall well-being and inspires the personal wellness journeys of our cast.

“It is exciting to know that our cast are choosing to participate in yoga, because self-care is so important,” she said. “As a yoga instructor, I would like all our cast to feel the impact of yoga on their physical and mental well-being — not just during the event, but also after the event, and into their daily lives.”
