New Exhibition Now Open: Winston Churchill: A Passion for Painting

Winston-Churchill-A-Passion-for-Painting-medium.jpeg

A self-proclaimed pastime painter, Winston Churchill did not put brush to canvas until the age of 40. Although he received no formal training as an artist, he pursued his hobby with characteristic passion, and it became a lifelong interest.

Winston Churchill: Passion for Painting brings together for the first time five extraordinary paintings and three drawings by Churchill in the Museum's collection. The exhibit features a recent acquisition, Churchill's extraordinary Beach at Walmer (pictured) from 1938.
