Distillery 291 Announces Four New Whiskey Releases
Distillery 291 of Colorado Springs, Colorado, announces the return of two whiskey releases—291 Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey (Batch #2) and 291 Colorado Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Batch #2)—and two limited-edition whiskey releases for the sesquicentennial of the City of Colorado Springs. (
Catoctin Creek Begins Distribution to Canada
Catoctin Creek Distilling Co. of Purcellville, Virginia, announces its new partnership with Evergreen Beverage Canada, a national wine, beer, and spirits distribution company based in Toronto, Ontario. The full lineup of Catoctin Creek’s most popular expressions, Roundstone Rye 80 Proof, Roundstone Rye 92 Proof Distiller’s Edition and Roundstone Rye Cask Proof are now available in the Alberta market, which services mail-order throughout Canada. TTB Unveils New Distilled Spirits Labeling Homepage
The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) recently unveiled a new distilled spirits labeling homepage to make it easy to find and access the information you need to know about distilled spirits labeling. The page is organized so that you can quickly scan for the topics you are most interested in, and it offers reference materials, including a mandatory information checklist and the anatomy of a distilled spirits label interactive tool.
ACSA Mourns Loss of Former Colleague's Daughter
We at ACSA send our deepest condolences to Leah Hutchinson—a longtime friend of the craft spirits industry who was with ACSA from its inception—after the tragic and untimely passing of her daughter, Sarah Danielle Hutchinson. The 29-year-old Indiana native died from injuries sustained after a boating accident on July 4 in West Virginia.

A funeral service open to friends and family will be held at noon on Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Floyd County Humane Society of Indiana, P.O. Box 1134, New Albany, IN, 47151 or at

Hurry: Six Days Left to Register!
Time is running out to enter the third biennial Heartland Whiskey Competition. Enter your whiskey by July 14, deliver it by July 18, and earn your right to display a new gold, silver or bronze medal. This event only happens every two years so don't let this opportunity pass you by.

The competition is open to craft whiskeys from all 50 states that incorporate corn in their mash bill, but the following corn-supported states can compete for a "Best of State" award: Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

The American Craft Spirits Association is the only national registered non-profit trade association representing the U.S. craft spirits industry. Its mission is to elevate and advocate for the community of craft spirits producers, and membership in ACSA is open to anyone. 

ACSA is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the eligible voting members of the Association. Voting members must be independent licensed distillers (DSPs) annually removing fewer than 750,000 proof gallons from bond (the amount on which a Federal Excise Tax is paid.)
