Distinguished Service Awards Nominations Closing October 30
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2021 Distinguished Service Awards, jointly presented by the Canadian Bar Association - Alberta Branch and the Law Society of Alberta.
Help us shine a light on the outstanding contributions Alberta lawyers provide. We are accepting nominations in the categories of service to the profession, service to the community, service to legal scholarship and pro bono legal service.

Desk Applications Presentation and Information Session
On October 26, 2020 at 12:30 pm, the Court of Queen's Bench will be hosting a Webex Presentation called Desk Applications: The Role of Quality Materials in a Digital World...and Always. The presentation will focus on how to best make use of the Court's online desk applications system. 

The presentation will be mostly on Masters' applications, featuring a Master from each of Calgary and Edmonton, a clerk and an IT presenter. Click here to join the session.
Alberta Law Libraries Closing Drumheller Location
Alberta Law Libraries (ALL) will permanently close their Drumheller courthouse library location on November 1/2020. This library location has not been staffed since May 2019. 
 
This closure aligns with goals established by Alberta Law Libraries 2018-2021 Strategic Plan, including the leveraging of technology and infrastructure in the deliver of library services, and realigning the organization to support flexible and sustainable delivery of their mandate.
 
Library and information services to members of the Law Society of Alberta located in the Drumheller region will continue to be delivered at a distance via the Calgary Courts Centre (CCC) library, including customized legal research and training services.
